I have just updated hall of fame page.

There's no picture or birthday information available for most of the newly added persons: C. Mattern, O. Garcia, P. Tarsa and A. Djourik (TTA inventor). I also want to add Josh Coalson (Flac) and M.T. Ashland (APE) because they enhanced their formats to add support for high resolution audio. However, of them only Flac currently supports multi channel audio.
I have also added Nania, Ilia and Christian for their newest compressors. Since FreeArc is a new open sourced compressor I would also like to mention Bulat for his work.

Durilca'light is still working here; so the results go online tomorrow.

BTW: can you tell me if the lossless audio & lossless bitmap cmp. pages are more reader-friendly now? I changed the layout because the standard resolution is still 1024X768 and most readers might not have a widescreen display as Florin told me.

Hello Stephan, I noticed that Squeeze Chart's homepage and "16 Main Testsets" have title "Page Title"... could you change that? It looks weird in Google

The page titles are present now; however Google still displays it the weird way. Maybe they need some time to change that.

The next update goes online on sunday and will inlcude Tornado 0.4, latest Rings and FPAQ and BALZ.

I have changed font size for the lossless audio page; if it is ok now I wil also change it for lossless image and exe compression pages.
The latest OpenOffice 2.4 still does not support conditional formatting, so the spreadsheet still has to wait..

10x! how about testing 4x4? i can recommend modes 5 and 9. it should be very efficient utilizing all 4 cores

and it will be better to replace tor 0.4 -12 mode with -11 - it's about 4 times faster with close compression ratio

I had problems using all the cores with p.ex. lzma; the automatic mode did not detect and use 4 cores.. and I could not figure out the commandline for manual use of lzma with 4 cores

4x4 by default uses 4 compression threads. just run

4x4 9 infile outfile

Hi again,

I've updated benchmarks:

* added Slug 1.2, Slug 1.21 & 4x4 with option 9
* added decompression timings for Balz 1.03, CMM4 1.0e, Rings 1.5, 4x4 and Slug 1.21

Slug is ranked at the top deflate64 class but is 10x faster;
Rings 1.5 had about the same compression power as 1.4c
