I'm looking forward to seeing results from PPMONSTER.

Will you be adding UDA 0.310 to your benchmark?

    Thanks Francesco!

I thought that UDA would be too slow but I'm quite surprised that PPMonstr was also too slow.

When will you be adding Pimple v1.43b and LZPXJ to the benchmark?

  17. #47

The benchmark currently in vision it fully is not reliable in how much the program of automatic test didn't recognize nr. 2 (two) file that was jumped in the programs not GUI for which am forced to ritestare all the programs not GUI while I am confirming the results of the commercial programs and with interface GUI! I apologize me but is not due to me! I am again ritestando all the programs and there will be some changes in the classification!

  20. #50
All compressor not GUI in re - testing! little changes for more programs !

    Thanks to both of you...
Antonio, to make your speed data a little more independent from the CPU model/frequency, would you add a column with a relative speed measure?

I mean, you can assign 100% to one widely used format (zip, rar, 7-zip, or which you prefer, maybe you can check with squxe a common one) and all the other data will be relative to it.
In that way hopefully the speed will be nearly independent from your system and easier to compare...
I will do the same proposal for "Squxe Archivers chart", so well have a way to better compare results (and to check if "relative speed" is really low dependent from CPU of it does not work at all... :sad
(Ive talked about such suggestion in another thread, here http://www.encode.ru/forums/index.php?action=vthre ad&forum=1&topic=569 )
    Thanks

Remember that LPREPAQ also uses PackJPG by Matthias Stirner. IMHO Matthias Stirner should be listed under "AUTHOR" along with Matt Mahoney, Alexander Ratushnyak, and Christian Schneider.
